There is a little stone church of off highway 194 in Valley Crucis, North Carolina. There is said to be something there that combines Earth and Hell. There is a shadow that wanders around the leaning graves in the grave yard of the church. Two men say that one night they saw the shadow and had a close call with it. One night two men were driving past the church and then the shadow leaped out in front of them. The man driving slammed on the brakes and they saw a gigantic dog that was as tall and wide as a man. The dog looked made, because of the fact it was showing is huge yellow teeth. The man who was driving then went full speed down the curved road. The dog started chasing them, it was even catching up to them. The dog was just about to be caught up with the speeding car, when the two men got to the bridge. The men drove across the bridge and then kept going. After the men left they said that they anxiously count the seconds as the pass the old stone church of Valley Crucis.
